Katya DeneiresOnce upon a time, I used to romanticize, used to be somebody- Never mind, don’t miss it that much now.
Katya nodded, squeezing Christian’s hand back. How had they become such close friends in such a short space of time? It was so surreal, and Katya felt as if she could rely on Mr. LaRue anytime. It wasn’t something she had felt before. Noiselessly, she agreed with Christian about war. It was terrible, and no matter how much justification it warranted, it was wrong. Katya was sorry that Iggy had had to die, just in pure violence in a protest. Katya doubted that she’d ever have the guts to even stand up for something like that. Suddenly, she was pulled from her seat. Eyes widened, she looked at Christian questioningly.
"Fly?”
She repeated, bewildered and thrown off by his sudden change in topic. Katya hadn’t much liked planes, there was something strange about being up in the air- but Iggy looked so hopeful, and it was obvious he enjoyed it, so why shouldn’t she? He begged her, looking more excited than she’d seen him so far. With a small shake of her head and a smile, she answered.
“Why not?”
She convinced herself that it would be fun, I mean, flying? It’s something so many people dream about. The apprehension still twisted her stomach, but she could handle it. It would be fun, and it wasn’t like she had much to lose.
I think it’s sinking in, days that I wonder where I’ve been, In picture perfect porcelain, but I won’t lose a pound.

Chris grinned when she agreed to go flying with him. It had taken only one other girl flying but she didn't like it very much. Iggy frowned at the fact he couldn't remember her name. Then thought crossed him, what if he forgot about Katya? What would he do then? He didn't want to forget her... he really liked her. Maybe as long as she really liked him, he wouldn't forget.
"Meet me at Sheffield Fields tonight," he said with a wink, "And we'll have a groovy time. You'll love flying at night, its the best way to look at the stars!"
It was true, flying at night was the most brilliant time to fly. Iggy loved it. The stars were so bright and the moon was so large it seemed. It felt like he was in a surreal land, and his mind could wander. It was so lovely so perfect.
"Just look for the light. I have a tendency to glow in the dark," he said with a wink.
Iggy grinned and leaned over the table and kissed Katya on the cheek. He winked at her again and said, "See you tonight."
He left the table, grinning brightly, he even felt that he was glowing. And by the look on the people's faces as he passed them, he actually was glowing. He calmed down a bit and the glowing ceased, even though inside he was surely still glowing.

Katya smiled at him as he told her where to meet him and what to look out for. Despite herself, she was excited for tonight. Flying, without seat belts and windows. It wasn’t as if many people got that chance, or even vampires. Katya hadn’t looked forward to something like that in a very long time. In fact, she couldn’t remember ever being so enthusiastic about any event. He leaned over the table and kissed her cheek, which was unexpected. Then again, everything about strange Christian LaRue seemed to be unexpected- and when all of her life had been so predictable, before becoming a vampire, it was exhilarating. She watched as he moved away, actually glowing as he left. Katya couldn’t wipe the silly smile off of her face as he dimmed it down. Shaking her head she went to get another milkshake and decided to head home.
Surely the day couldn’t get any better?
But it would when she met Christian at the field tonight and went flying. How quickly her life had changed, just because she’d gone to the mall and hadn’t known why.
I think it’s sinking in, days that I wonder where I’ve been, In picture perfect porcelain, but I won’t lose a pound.
