Only a year has passed since the incident with the Volturi arriving in Forks on the assumption that the Cullens had done an unthinkable act: the creation of an immortal child. But upon the impending battle, peace was found, and all were left without any fault, without grudges. Well, almost everyone. There are some within the guard that aren't happy with the way things were left with the Cullens, for they still believe that someone should pay for the act that they had done, despite the fact that there were technically no laws stating against the birth of a hybrid child. And along with this accusation among the guards, there is still talk about those dreaded creatures that they had come across: the werewolves, or shifters, of La Push, the Quileutes. Many have wondered what happens among these puzzling creatures, but there has never been a desire to try and study them.[/blockquote]
Not until now.
Lately, there has been talk about the mysterious disappearings that happen in Forks every so often. No, not humans, but other vampires, blood drinking ones that is. At first, there was no concern for this, but as it began to happen over and over again, the Volturi have begun to wonder if this wasn't just a common happening. Once more the guards suspicions began to rise, and they slowly began to rally against the three leaders, stating that they should go to Forks. But Aro only said no. At first, they slowly complied, letting their feelings go for the moment, until one day there was a vampire that appeared inside the great walls of Volterra with great news: the news that it was, in actuality, the shape-shifters of La Push that were making the killings happen. The guard rallied once more, stating that the should kill all the shifters and put a stop to the madness. But Aro said no once more.
"Go to Forks. Study the beasts. Learn their weaknesses." Those were the only words from the great Volturi leader, and his request was carried out in no time. For a few more months those in Volterra waited for word from the small band that had been sent out, and after what seemed like years to the vampires, they had returned. They told of how they had their little packs, of how they had specific statuses among themselves in these packs. They had found out about how they became attached to a single person, a bond that could not be broken no matter the circumstances. But none of that was particularly valuable to the three leaders. No, what they found the most interesting was that all of the wolves shared a mental link with the Alpha. It was from this information that they began to devise a plan.
"Find a way to control the Alpha, and you can control them all." Marcus stated. With that statement, there planning began to grow, and it wasn't long before they had gotten all their details set. After many tries of changing humans, they had acquired a new member to the guard, one with the ability of mental possession. With this new member now among those of the guard, the three leaders have already begun to set their plan in motion, sending some of the guard to Forks in order to capture the alphas and bring them back to Volterra. Now they wait, wait for the day when their delicate balance among the vampires to be restored.
