Power: Future Seeing, Burning Illusions, Thought Projection.
Personality: Adrian, if nothing, is determined. He won’t stop for anything or anyone if he wants something. Bordering on unhealthy obsessiveness, Adrian doesn’t ever lose sight of anything. He hates to be outsmarted, and will get back at anyone who does try to make him look the fool. Lacking morals completely, Adrian doesn’t see how anyone can be happy with mediocre, or less than, lives. He is generally smart, despite this. Adrian can be manipulative and has a bad temper. Sometimes he can seem a little unstable, but searching the earth unsuccessfully for a girl he is obsessed with has done that. Because of his bad temper and slightly insane personality, paired with his other traits, Adrian can be very violent.
Beneath all of this, is just a man who enjoys high-society life and someone who wants a woman to share eternity with. It’s only because of his obsessive personality that he has become any of the above things, and because Katya left him they’ve shown up and grown worse over the years.
Family: All Deceased.
History: Adrian’s human life had been insignificant, to him at least. His family life was calm, his house mediocre. It all seemed very boring. What Adrian had wanted was an extravagant life to be remembered by everyone. He wanted to have power, riches, control. He would do whatever it took to get just that, and damn the consequences.
There was one woman, a psychic he knew, who lived in constant wealth and comfort. He thought that she was a fake, as all psychics were. Everyone swore by her word though, and so Adrian went to her, craving the reading of his future. She told him that he had two likely paths.
One was that he’d live out his days with a nice little family, not much to his name and live the life of any other man around this time.
The second was that he’d one day have riches beyond comprehension, and could find his power among people- but he wouldn’t have anyone to rely on or confide in.
Adrian quite liked the prospect of the second path so he asked the psychic about it. She told him about the supernatural world, and already knowing his decision, brought him into it.
The Psychic’s readings proved to be accurate. For years he accumulated money, but after six he had decided he just wanted someone to share eternity with. Using immortal charm and looks had gained him wealth, so he was sure that it could gain him a wife. He had been walking down a London street when he saw a beautiful woman with a newborn child heading home with her husband. Adrian stole a glance at the baby, and instantly knew he could wait for her to grow up to have a wife- she’d be stunning, if her mother was anything to go by.
So from the shadows, he watched the little girl grow up, learning everything about her. Eventually he was able to see her future. She would have welcomed her brother back from wherever he had been after being painfully alone after her mothers death for a year. Then she would have married to a gentleman of medium status and had four children- two boys and two girls.
Adrian didn’t understand that anyone could be content with any life like that, so he made his decision- only to save her from such an uneventful life.
When she was eighteen, he took her but didn’t have her until two years later when she was left to herself after her mothers departure. Katya stayed quiet and sad for the years Adrian had her by his side. He didn’t understand why, she could buy all the beautiful clothes she wanted with his money, had eternity ahead of her. All she managed to do was mope.
Finally she began to respect him and at least acted happy most of the time. They went to balls and social events, but she never seemed quite as joyful as she had been when she was human.
Adrian was willing to overlook it, until she up and left without a trace. Since then, his obsession has been to find her and he won’t stop until he does. Katya was the one thing he hadn’t managed to have for himself, and he was determined to make that right.
