Chris held a ball of light in his hands and threw it up into the sky. It expanded and grew, bathing a large portion of the field in light. He was nervous, he had spent hours in the mirror of his apartment trying to be charming, he had even groomed his wings...twice! He had to pluck out all the bad feathers and that hurt! His wings were still throbbing.
Iggy let out a loud relaxing sigh, trying to expel all his nerves out of his stomach. He really liked Katya, and he really wanted to impress her. She was used to fancy, high-class gentlemen, and he was going to have to woo her with hippie, fun-loving angel self. But then he got to thinking, could a vampire really love an angel? He was just solidified form of light...he technically didn't even have a body...
Chris just shook those thoughts right of his head. He was just going to have to go with the flow on this one. He ran his fingers through his hair in on quick combing motion.
"Maybe I should groom my wings just one more time," he muttered to himself.
Iggy pulled of his pale blue tunic, revealing a brown harnass holding back purely white wings. He unstrapped the harness and the wings flaired out from his shoulders. Ah that feels much better. Having his wings free calmed him down a bit, he flapped them a few times, warming them up. He had to make sure he was limber or he could drop her, and he would die of embarrassment if he dropped her.
He stretched every limb twice, but when he finished his last stretch he remembered the nasty would on his chest. He frowned, there was no way for him to cover that one up. He sighed and continued to stretch, there was nothing he could do about it. He just hoped that Katya would understand it.

Katya DeneiresOnce upon a time, I used to romanticize, used to be somebody- Never mind, don’t miss it that much now.
Katya stopped at the edge of Sheffield Meadow, looking at the great burst of light that lit it. A small smile teased at her lips as she carried on forward. It was cooler tonight than it had been in the mall, and even Katya had to admit it was cold. So, she was wearing a pair of jeans, a blue camisole, her beloved combat boots and a white jacket. In the middle of the field she could just make out the form of Christian and behind him were two beautiful wings. Katya felt relaxed as she strode through the field, getting closer to the light and Iggy. The mall felt like a lifetime away now, which was strange because a day was nothing in a century of existence.
As she approached him she noticed the wound straight away. Katya herself didn’t have any scars or wounds, they healed too fast- which was good, she supposed. It was just another reminder of what she wasn’t. Katya smiled as she stood in front of him.
“Good evening.”
She greeted as she looked upwards to the hovering ball of light. Katya had a completely open mind for this, if she didn’t, she might freak out at the fact that she was going to fly. Such a weird concept.
I think it’s sinking in, days that I wonder where I’ve been, In picture perfect porcelain, but I won’t lose a pound.

Chris nearly jumped in surprise at the sound of Katya's voice, a few of his feathers fell to the ground as he jumped in the air. He had been so focused on cleaning his wings that he hadn't seen the vampire stand in front of him.
"Oh Good evening, Katya!" he said, blushing a little bit in embarrassment. He was such a jumpy thing sometimes. And nothing says, 'handsome man' than a man that gets scared at the sound of girl's voice. Though to his defense he was focused on grooming himself, which was something he never did.
Katya was special and deserved special treatment. SHe was used to fine gentlemen and big dresses while he was used to hanging out in the woods and skinny dipping in the lake with a bunch of girls and guys. Two completely different worlds.
"So are you ready for the time of your life?" he asked eagerly, flapping his wings a few times, "It's been a little while since I've flown with someone but don't worry! I'll catch you if you fall, I always will."
He smiled at her warmly and grabbed her hand. His brown eyes shown with excitement for the adventure they were about to have.

Katya DeneiresOnce upon a time, I used to romanticize, used to be somebody- Never mind, don’t miss it that much now.
Katya tilted her head, her brown hair rolling off her shoulders as she smiled at him. It seemed her vampire silence never failed to present itself. She had given Iggy quite a scare, so it appeared. For a moment she closed her eyes, listening to the wind course through the long grass, the wildlife hidden around and in the field. It was so peaceful here, in the field.
“Hello, Christian.”
She greeted again, grinning at the awkwardness of the conversation so far. Christian’s wings flapped a few times and Katya’s eyes stayed glued to them. They looked so delicate and beautiful, how could they hold up one person, let alone two? But angels had a lot of magic to them, and light, so Katya believed that it would work. Katya gave him a skeptical look.
“That’s a relief, it’s a good thing I can withstand most danger.”
Katya teased him and grabbed onto his hand. Iggy looked excited, and so was Katya but she hadn’t flown before- as was expected and was a little apprehensive at the whole thing. She really hoped that Iggy wouldn’t drop her, even if it was possible to catch her. Katya doubted she’d look dignified during or after that scare.
I think it’s sinking in, days that I wonder where I’ve been, In picture perfect porcelain, but I won’t lose a pound.

"You may wanna get a better hold, at least until we're airborne," Chris said with a big grin.
It was true, she may want a better grip before they went taring into the starry night. He guided her arms around his neck as he wrapped his arms around her waist.
"I'm not trying to be forward I swear," he said innocently, even though it was a half-truth. It wasn't really his intention but being close to Katya certainly didn't bother him, even if she did smell like a vampire. Iggy didn't care. He liked her...a lot. And he had a hope that she liked him.
At least she was a tangible thing in the world, she had a body. Even Something to hold onto and squeeze. Chris needed something tangible to hold him to Earth, or he had nothing here to be around for. He'd just be a zombie. A pretty zombie, but a zombie non the less. Katya could just be that anchor he needed to stay human. At least that's what he thought, anything could happen. Iggy had learned that after he died.
"I just don't want you to fall, you holding on tightly?...Great! Let's go then!"
And with a might flap of his white wings, they shot off into the sky. His wings flapped a bit harder with the new weight, but they were silent. No sound could be heard from his wings. Iggy just held on to Katya's waist, as the climbed higher into the night sky.

Katya DeneiresOnce upon a time, I used to romanticize, used to be somebody- Never mind, don’t miss it that much now.
Katya let Chris loop her arms around his neck and hold onto her waist. Hey, if it stopped her from plummeting toward the earth and having to live through being thrown and broken against the ground, then it was fine. Either way she’d live, but it’d be a little uncomfortable to experience that kind of pain. She smiled lightly at his reassurances that he wasn’t taking advantage of the situation. Somehow, she got the feeling that even though it wasn’t a complete intention, he didn’t mind the position they were in.
“Are you sure that’s not the case?”
Katya teased, though she didn’t really mind. It was just… strange. She hadn’t ever been this close to any guy, partly because she was still so lost in the past, and partially because she still felt eighteen and romance seemed ridiculous. Katya was snapped back out of her thoughts as Iggy surged them both into the sky. Though she didn’t really need it in the first place, her breath was taken away as she held on tighter to him by instinct.
The cool air rushed through her air and over her skin, the stars stayed just as far as they had ever been, but Katya still felt like she was there among them. It was exhilarating, breath-taking and so, so beautiful. Katya couldn’t believe it, she was in the sky.

Christian loved the feeling of Katya being so close to him up in the sky. He was used to flying by himself that he forgot how lovely it was to be with another person...another girl. Iggy had never liked a girl so much as he liked Katya, and he had known his fair share of girls. But known were nearly as special as her, granted that none of them were vampires, but he wasn't human anymore.
He couldn't help but laugh when she teased him. He flapped his wings a couple times, but for the most part they just coasted through the night sky. The air was so smooth and cold against Iggy's bare chest.
"Well you caught me, Katya," he replied to her, eyes gleaming mischievously in the moon light.
He loved the night sky, and the moon was only at a half or so. But it still managed to light up the sky. Iggy knew that he was glowing like always. Being made of light had a tendency to make you glow a lot. He smiled at Katya and said, "The skies so beautiful! It reminds me of you. The dark sky is your hair, and those few stars over there are your pretty lips, and that large planet is your nose, and the moon is your eyes. Big and beautiful. "

Katya DeneiresOnce upon a time, I used to romanticize, used to be somebody- Never mind, don’t miss it that much now.
Katya smiled, her dark eyes reflecting the night sky around them as she stared, awed. It was so peaceful in the air, only the sound of the air rushing past them and Christian’s voice. She also noticed that the angel was giving off a bit of a glow, she smiled slightly at that fact. When Iggy started to compliment her, Katya blushed profusely, looking away. No one had ever said anything like that to her. For a while, she didn’t know what to say.
“Well, thank you.”
She replied self-conciously and feeling kind of awkward. Katya didn’t really know how to deal with social situations well, especially with any boy. Apparently a century of living doesn’t change much in a person. Instead of letting herself mess everything up with her lack of social ability in the modern times, Katya decided to speak.
“You know, you’d think someone who’s been alive for a century would be able to handle a compliment.”
She commented with a slight chuckle, an uneasy one, but one nonetheless.
“But I didn’t really talk to many people. It’s strange.” At that Katya remembered when she’d been in Spain, during it’s own Civil War. That had been one time she had perhaps spoken out too much. She’d been imprisoned for a while for speaking out against the new government a little too vehemently.

Chris couldn't understand why Katya so shy. Most women he knew would've slapped him for his forwardness or been totally into him. But he liked that about Katya, he loved the mystery about her. It gave him something to try to search for...something to uncover. The mystery was something that Iggy still had a taste for, after dying he felt that he would know everything, but now he saw that he still had a lot to learn.
"Well I thought someone as pretty as you would be used to receiving compliments," he said with a goofy grin, "But I should stop making you feel awkward, eh?"
He laughed, he was perhaps flirting too much. To Iggy, though, there was no such thing as too much flirting. And he really liked her. He thought she was pretty and she was technically dead...like him. She was sweet and shy. Iggy was curious why vampires got a bad rap, if they were all like Katya they couldn't be all that bad.
"You should talk to people Katya, your a loveable person, I can't imagine why they wouldn't wanna talk to you," he said with a smile, "Perhaps you should just stick to the supernatural...humans...aren't as understanding."

Katya playfully rolled her eyes as he gave her another flattering remark. Perhaps it was because she didn’t know how to handle any social situation well that talking to Christian was nice, but slightly awkward. Then again, it could be that she was still so stuck in the past, always looking behind instead of ahead. It was so hard to look to the future when it was so far away, unlike humans, there was no set thing about it. There was no retirement age, or family time, or the twenties when you went out and had fun- there wasn’t death in age.
“It’s alright, I should probably learn how to socialize a little better.”
Katya admitted with a small smile before listening to Christian speak again. With a small laugh she continued.
“That’s probably a good idea, one of the few times I spoke to a supernatural I met this really cute angel, he was really nice, and funny- he took me out flying.”
Katya explained, smiling a little while she teased him slightly. The night was still dark around them, cool spring air rushed past with the smells of blooming flowers and new vegetation. It really was tranquil up here, Katya almost wished that she never had to leave.

Iggy loved the feeling of the night air ruffling his feathers. it had been so long since he had last flown, and now he was flying with a beautiful girl with him, it was such a lovely way to spend his after life. He didn't want to end it. Katya and Iggy were so similar yet so different at the same time, but together that made the perfect combo in his opinion. They made up for each other's differences. It was a lovely place to be.
Iggy couldn't help but blush a bit as she mention meeting a cute angel and say, "You know I've heard angels are pretty wonderful, but you'd never guess who I met...a beautiful vampire girl who's stunning and sweet. Bet you can't top that one."
He smiled as he placed a strand of her hair behind her ear, of course it didn't matter, the wind was blowing all their hair to pieces but it was the thought that count. Chris loved the way she looked, all wind blown, it was such a pretty sight to see.
"You do know your beautiful right?" he said softly.

Katya threw her head back and laughed at Christian’s blush toward her comment on him being cute. She hadn’t had this much fun with anyone, pretty much ever in her life, besides with her brother. Sadly, she’d never see her brother again, so Iggy was the only one left for her- and they’d just met. It felt like she’d known him for ever. That still didn’t change the fact that when he complimented her, she blushed slightly more than even he had, since Christian hadn’t really blushed that much.
“I bet I could beat that.”
Katya protested with a small smile, her thoughts completely scattered for a better answer than her pathetic comeback. What just happened? Her blush deepened when Christian pushed some hair behind her ear. Silently Katya scolded herself for being so silly. That was until Iggy told her she was beautiful, in question form.
“I guess so, if an Angel says it, it must be the truth.” She admitted albeit reluctantly, lowering her eyes slightly before raising them back up again to look at Iggy in the face. All of a sudden she was aware of how close they were and blushed a deeper kind of red, feeling a little self-concious.

Iggy never really liked a girl as much as he liked Katya. Sure he had known plenty of girls in his time, he was a hippie after all. But he never liked any of them as much as he liked her. She was fascinating, pretty, and charming and he was pretty sure that there was no other girl in this world like her. It was nice to of found someone who shared his immortality. Someone who wouldn't die on him. A few years back he had met a girl...but he had to leave her. He realized he couldn't date a girl that wouldn't leave as long as he would.
"Your really cute when you blush," he said smiling at her, "I just look like a tomato, but you look cute."
Iggy hadn't realized how close they had gotten. But he figured now was the time. Now was the moment of truth he brought his face closer so that their noses were still touching. It was such a beautiful night, such a perfect night. The stars were bright, and twinkling. The moment was perfect. Chris pressed his lips against hers gently, lingering for a moment, before pulling away, smiling.

This is what it was supposed to feel like. What Adrian had tried and tried again to get from her, but only failed. Katya hadn’t even known if this feeling was real, and if it was, could a vampire even get it? The answer was yes. Obviously it wasn’t quite love, seeing as they’d known each other less than a day, but it made Katya feel so much less… dead than she had before. More human. It was a good thing to feel after a century. The thing with immortality and the craving for taking life was that you never wanted to get close to people, it could only end in disaster. With Christian it was different. It almost couldn’t end in disaster at all, neither could really die- unless someone got close enough to decapitate Katya- and Katya wasn’t in danger of really hurting him.
Playfully she glared at him at his comment on her blush, trying to will the damn thing away. That was before Iggy leaned in. All thoughts fled her mind and her breath stopped as their noses touched, and then their lips. Her eyes widened a moment and then slid shut, silence ringing out even after Christian pulled away. If she had a truly working heart, she doubted it would be working now, after that. Any coherent thought she tried to form slipped from her grasp as she opened her eyes and looked at Iggy, probably looking like some star-struck girl- simply put, an idiot.
“Well, you certainly have a way of making me look the tongue-tied fool.”
She whispered, trying to salvage the conversation, or her dignity.
